Biblia Chora - 2018 - Assyrtiko Areti White - 750 ml.

Assyrtiko
White - Vintage: 2018 - Size: 750 ml.
The Areti is produced from the Assyrtiko varietal cultivated on the Biblia Chora estate, near Ambelia, where the soil is limestone and clay. The wine has a light yellow-green color, expressive nose with aromas of citrus (lemon, orange, bitter orange) blending nicely with mineral and metallic notes. It has a rich, exceptional structure, with a good balance of alcohol and acidity, and a long finish.
The 2018 Areti White is an unoaked Assyrtiko that comes in at 13.7% alcohol. Another fabulous Assyrtiko from Biblia Chora, this Areti brand continues to make waves as one of, if not the best, "off Santorini" Assyrtikos. It's neither as bright nor as rich of some of the Santorini competitors in this report, but in its own style and on its own terms, it's super. Seeming reasonably concentrated, structured and long on the finish, this is impressive. It is expressive of the grape as well. It's a rather nice price point too.
