Donatella Cinelli Colombini - 2017 - Brunello di Montalcino - 750 ml.
Country: Italy
Region: Tuscany
Varietal: Sangiovese
Vintage: 2017 - Size: 750 ml. - Type: Red
A brilliant ruby red color. In the glass the movement is slow thanks to the richness in noble components. The aromas are deep, full, exciting, rich in different notes such as ripe black berries, exotic fruit and spices. On the palate, soft like thick silk velvet that through its weft allows a peek of the imposing acid and tannin structures. These components will allow this wine to last in time. A long intense and pleasant finish. The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is balanced and bright with lots of luscious primary fruit. The wine opens to soft tones of cherry, dried raspberry, crushed flowers and spice. It moves over the palate with mid-weight intensity, imparting plenty of Sangiovese freshness along the way.
James Suckling: 92
Sweet berries and dried flowers with cedar and sandalwood. Medium-to full-bodied with chewy yet fine tannins that are long and persistent. It’s a little tight at the end, suggesting that another two or three years of bottle age will give it a little more open and refined character. Try after 2023.
