The Wine
Viñedo Chadwick represents the Chadwick family’s long cherished desire to honour the memory of the late Don Alfonso Chadwick Errázuriz with an Ultra Premium red wine showcasing the ancestry, tradition, and expertise of the Chadwick-Errázuriz family for producing fine wines reflecting the family’s passion for excellence. The aim is to make an elegant wine with freshness and purity, showing the Maipo Valley at its highest level. Although Don Alfonso never saw the finished wine, he is remembered with every bottle of Viñedo Chadwick.
Since its inaugural release Viñedo Chadwick has consistently received the highest praise and recognition throughout its entire history, including being Robert Parker’s highest-rated Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile for five consecutive vintages.

2015: 99 Points James Suckling
“Very deep and primary fruit character in this red gives the wine amazing length and focus. It seems to go on forever. Full body yet vivid and energetic. Tannic and muscular yet so polished and finish.”
2016: 99 Points James Suckling
“The blue fruit and dark berry aromas are so attractive and catching. Black licorice and blackberry notes. Full body, chewy yet polished tannins. I like the way the wine rolls over the tongue. Beautiful finish. One of the most structured Viñedo Chadwicks ever. A great bottle. Needs four to five years to soften.”
96 Points Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate (Reviewer: Luis Gutiérrez)
“The price of the 2016 Viñedo Chadwick seems to be going through the roof, and so does the quality. This is a unique, classical Maipo Cabernet…Complex, layered, fresh and tasty, it has very fine tannins and is nicely structured but terribly elegant at the same time”
2018: 97 Points Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate (Reviewer: Luis Gutiérrez)
“…the wine is still very fresh, with moderate alcohol, perfectly ripe fruit and super integrated oak, coming through as elegant within the powerful style of the zone, with red and black fruit, some aromatic herbs, the cedary and spicy notes of the variety and the signature tannins of Cabernet, keeping the juiciness of the last few years. The little bit of Petit Verdot in the blend gives it a spicy touch. It’s vibrant, balanced and intense, still a little young and creamy, and I’d wait a little bit longer before pulling the cork. This can surely age in bottle, as it has the ingredients and the balance to do so; it has the elegance of 2016 with a little more structure and depth—and a little more clout too.”
98 Points James Suckling
“The aromas show blackcurrant, pine-tree, violet and light spearmint character. Full-bodied, yet reserved and tight with fine, creamy tannins. Hints of currants and fresh herbs. Extremely long and layered.”
2021
This deep purple coloured Viñedo Chadwick 2021 is highly complex on the nose, with intense notes of violets, raspberries and cassis, along with hints of cocoa, coffee beans and nutmeg. On the palate is long and deep, showcasing fresh red fruit, dark chocolate and some notes of sweet spice. The mouth is complex and layered, revealing fine-grained, chalky tannins, juicy acidity, elegance and wonderful persistence. A superb example from this vintage.”
