Vietti - 2020 - Timorasso Derthona - 750 ml.
Country: Italy
Region: Piedmont
Varietal: Timorasso
Vintage: 2020 - Size: 750 ml. - Type: White
Description: Clear, intense yellow color with a green hue. On the nose scents of ripe yellow fruit (pear and peaches), with mineral and floral nuances of acacia and hawthorn. Typical honey notes. After two to three years the mineral notes are more intense; sometimes emphasized by the typical scent of hydrocarbon which refines and adds complexity to the wine. On the palate the wine is dry, gentle, soft and quite rich though very well balanced, without any edges. It has a long lingering aftertaste paired with good fresh acidity. The Vietti 2020 Colli Tortonesi Timorasso Derthona (aged in a combination of oak and ceramic tile-lined cement) is a wine of nice tension and ample texture. These contrasting characteristics shape the wine, which is horizontal in approach with broad appeal. The bouquet delivers tones of orchard fruit, saffron, honey and crushed stone. This medium-bodied wine will evolve slowly over the next 10 years, transitioning to more mineral, beeswax and dried fruit aromas. Best After 2023

This is intense, all the while remaining vibrant and succulent, featuring white flowers, peach, a squeeze of lemon and lingering salinity on the finish. Though tasty and accessible now, this feels like it has the structure to develop.
