The wine market in China already has a decade of progressive success, and it is logical to assume that it is due to globalization, market expansion and consumer trends, in addition to the fact that the wine market in China does not meet demand internally. China has become the fifth country in the world with the highest consumption of wine per capita.
Red wine is the favorite of the Chinese consumer. And it is normal. Being high consumers of pork products, the traditional pairing goes well with these products. The white, sparkling and rosé are consumed but in a much smaller proportion.
The Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Monastrell grapes are the most recognized in their respective variations and represent a greater consumption trend.
