Shipping policy

At finding.wine, we take great care in preparing and shipping every order. Because wine is a regulated and temperature-sensitive product, shipping policies are especially important. This Shipping Policy explains where we ship, how orders are processed, what delivery requirements apply, and how weather, compliance, failed delivery attempts, and special-order items are handled.

1. Shipping Eligibility

finding.wine ships wine only where legally permitted. By placing an order, you represent and warrant that your order may lawfully be shipped to the destination address and that both you and the recipient are at least 21 years of age.

All wine shipments require delivery to a valid street address where an adult age 21 or older is available to sign for the package.

We do not ship wine to:

  • P.O. Boxes; or
  • APO/FPO addresses.

We strongly recommend using a business address whenever possible to help avoid failed delivery attempts and unnecessary delays.

2. Licensed-State Shipping and Compliance Fulfillment

finding.wine ships directly via FedEx to destinations where it holds the necessary licenses or shipping authority.

For other eligible destinations, shipments may be processed through WeShip Express or another authorized compliance and fulfillment partner to facilitate lawful shipment, fulfillment, and delivery in accordance with applicable alcohol shipping laws and regulations.

By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree that finding.wine may use direct shipping methods or licensed third-party compliance and fulfillment partners depending on the shipping destination and applicable legal requirements.

3. Order Processing

Most in-stock orders are processed within 1 to 2 business days after payment is authorized and the order is reviewed. Processing times may vary depending on product availability, weather conditions, compliance checks, holidays, high order volume, or other operational factors.

Submitting an order does not guarantee acceptance or immediate shipment. Inventory is not guaranteed until the product has been pulled and confirmed for fulfillment.

4. Shipping Methods and Timing

Shipping options are presented at checkout, subject to destination, legal eligibility, and product availability. Shipping times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

Transit times may vary due to:

  • carrier delays;
  • weather conditions;
  • destination restrictions;
  • compliance reviews;
  • holidays and weekends; or
  • other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Shipping time estimates generally do not include order processing time and do not include Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays unless expressly stated otherwise.

5. Shipping Charges

All shipping charges, handling fees, insurance charges, adult signature fees, and related delivery costs are the responsibility of the purchaser unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

Additional shipping or compliance-related charges may apply depending on destination, fulfillment method, legal requirements, and carrier routing.

6. Weather and Temperature Risk

Wine is highly sensitive to heat, cold, and sudden temperature changes in transit. finding.wine may delay shipment when weather conditions could place the wine at risk.

We strongly discourage ground shipping during periods of extreme heat or freezing temperatures, especially when transit may take several days. In these situations, we may recommend expedited shipping, a weather hold, or an alternate shipping schedule.

If a customer elects to ship despite weather risk, declines a recommended weather hold, or selects a shipping method that increases temperature exposure, the customer assumes that risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, finding.wine is not responsible for leakage, seepage, cork movement, spoilage, label damage, or other quality issues caused by temperature exposure or transit conditions beyond our reasonable control.

7. Delivery Requirements

All wine deliveries require:

  • a recipient who is at least 21 years old;
  • a valid government-issued ID if requested by the carrier; and
  • an adult signature at the time of delivery.

Wine may not be left unattended, and carriers will not deliver to a minor or to an address that does not comply with adult-signature requirements.

8. Failed Delivery Attempts

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that an eligible adult is available to receive the shipment at the delivery address.

If delivery cannot be completed because:

  • no adult age 21 or older is available;
  • the address provided is incorrect or incomplete;
  • the package is refused for reasons not caused by finding.wine; or
  • the carrier is otherwise unable to complete delivery,

the package may be returned to finding.wine or held by the carrier in accordance with carrier policy.

If an order is returned or requires re-delivery under these circumstances, the customer will be responsible for:

  • original outbound shipping charges;
  • return shipping charges;
  • storage fees, if applicable;
  • the cost of a new shipping label for reshipment;
  • re-delivery or reshipment fees; and
  • any approved cancellation or restocking fees under our Returns & Refund Policy.

If a package is returned because the customer or recipient was unavailable to accept delivery, the customer will be responsible for all return shipping costs and for purchasing a new shipping label before the order can be reshipped.

9. Orders Returned Due to Delivery Failure

If an order is returned to finding.wine because delivery could not be completed for reasons not caused by us, any refund, store credit, cancellation, or reshipment will be handled in accordance with our Returns & Refund Policy and Terms of Service.

Customer-initiated cancellations or returns not caused by finding.wine may be subject to:

  • a 20% restocking fee;
  • non-refundable shipping and handling charges;
  • return shipping costs;
  • the cost of a new shipping label if the customer requests reshipment; and
  • any applicable payment processing or carrier fees.

10. Unavailable Items and Substitutions

If one or more items in your order are unavailable at the time of fulfillment, finding.wine may contact you to:

  • offer a substitution;
  • hold the order pending availability;
  • partially fulfill the order;
  • issue store credit; or
  • issue a refund for the unavailable item, at our discretion.

11. Pre-Arrival and Futures Items

Some wines offered by finding.wine are sold on a pre-arrival, allocation, or futures basis.

Any estimated arrival date provided at the time of purchase is only an estimate and is not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to importer schedules, supplier delays, transportation issues, customs delays, allocation changes, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Pre-arrival and futures items remain subject to our cancellation and return policies in effect at the time of purchase.

12. Compliance With State and Local Laws

Alcohol shipping laws vary by state and locality. finding.wine ships only where permitted and may use direct licensed shipping or third-party compliance fulfillment depending on the destination.

By placing an order with finding.wine, you represent and warrant that your order complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

finding.wine reserves the right to refuse, cancel, hold, or modify any order that cannot be shipped lawfully or completed in accordance with applicable compliance requirements.

13. Lost, Delayed, or Damaged Shipments

If your order arrives damaged, appears materially compromised, or is significantly delayed, please contact finding.wine promptly.

For damage claims, customers should:

  • retain the original packaging;
  • take clear photographs of the package and contents; and
  • contact us as soon as possible after delivery.

Claims for damaged shipments are subject to carrier review, documentation requirements, and our internal review procedures.
