Eastern Washington lies near the 46th parallel, close to Burgundy's latitude, which buys the vineyards unusually long summer daylight and sharp temperature drops once September arrives. Abeja's 2022 Chardonnay was grown at that latitude. White wine remains a minority of Washington's output, where red plantings hold the larger share.
