This 2020 Riserva from Altesino waited longer in the cellar than a standard Brunello would: the DOCG keeps Riserva off the market until the sixth year after harvest. Montalcino itself is a single hill rising to roughly 600 metres, and elevation is one of the reasons the same grape behaves so differently from one side of the town to the other.
