Cortese is the grape and Gavi its home, in the southeastern corner of Piedmont where the province of Alessandria pushes up against Liguria. Gavi holds DOCG status, one of very few white denominations in a region otherwise defined by its reds, and wines from the commune itself may append di Gavi to the name. Bava's version here is the 2022.
