Shaya Habis is a special selection of very old Verdejo vineyards with low production, planted in glass on sandy soils. The wine is fermented and remains on its lees in new large 500-600 liter French oak barrels for 8 months.

Bodegas Shaya specializes in Verdejo from Rueda, the Spanish region most closely identified with the grape. Habis is its old-vine cuvee, drawn from decades-old plantings and given time in oak, a more ambitious treatment than Rueda's everyday fresh whites receive. This 2018 shows the age-worthy side of a variety usually bottled young.
