Old vines has no legal definition in Spain. No minimum age is fixed, no register certifies it, so the claim rests entirely on the producer's own records of when the plot was planted. What growers generally mean by it is older stock giving a smaller crop per plant. Bodegas Volver puts that framing on the 2018 Cuvee Old Vines.
