Montrachet is among Burgundy's smallest grand crus, roughly eight hectares split between the communes of Puligny and Chassagne and planted to Chardonnay alone. Bouchard Pere & Fils, a Beaune house trading since 1731, bottled this 2018 from that vineyard. Grand cru is the top rung of Burgundy's four-tier hierarchy, and no village name appears on the label because the site is its own appellation.
