Rainwater is the Madeira style America made its own, dominating shipments to the colonial ports of the eastern seaboard. The name is usually traced to casks said to have been diluted by rain while waiting on the docks. Broadbent's nonvintage version keeps the traditional medium-dry profile and is built on Tinta Negra.
