Malagousia had all but disappeared from working vineyards before a revival effort in the late twentieth century returned it to commercial planting. Assyrtiko built its reputation on the volcanic ground of Santorini and is now grown well beyond the island. Buketo puts the two Greek varieties on one label in 2024.
