Malbec arrived in Argentina in the 1850s, when the agronomist Michel Aimé Pouget was hired by the provincial government to bring French cuttings to Mendoza. The variety faded in its Bordeaux homeland and became Argentina's calling card instead. Catena Zapata releases this 2022 under the Nicasia vineyard name, in Mendoza.
