Leynes is one of the villages where Beaujolais runs into the Maconnais, so a single commune there can grow Gamay and Chardonnay under two different appellation names. Chateau de Lavernette farms in that seam, and this 2022 is the Gamay side of it, bottled as Beaujolais.
