The 2011 grand vin at Château Léoville Las Cases comes from the walled Grand Enclos, whose northern edge doubles as the line where Saint-Julien ends and Pauillac, with Château Latour, begins. That year ran early in Bordeaux: a record-warm, dry spring put the vines weeks ahead of schedule before a cooler, wetter summer pulled them back.
