Cooper Mountain Vineyards planted its first vines in 1978 on Cooper Mountain itself, an extinct volcano in the hills southwest of Portland. The farm converted to biodynamics well before the practice had much of a U.S. following and has held Demeter certification since 1999. This 2022 Pinot Noir comes from that northern corner of the Willamette Valley, closer to the city than most Oregon vineyards.
