Juliénas is one of the ten crus of Beaujolais, at the northern end of the cru zone where granite mixes with older schist and clay. Gamay is the only red grape the cru permits, so Creuze Noir's 2021 is made entirely from it, under the cru name rather than the regional Beaujolais label.
