This 2018 was grown on Day's own vineyard in St. Helena, the warm mid-valley stretch of Napa where Zinfandel was a common sight in the 1800s, long before Cabernet Sauvignon defined the region. Zinfandel farmed inside the St. Helena appellation has become genuinely scarce, as most surviving Napa plantings have given way to higher-value Bordeaux varieties.
