Malagousia

Nice straw gold color, lively aroma, viscous with flavors of apricot, pear, and mango. The acidity is enough to provide grip and a sweet lusty finish.

Malagousia had nearly disappeared from Greek vineyards by the mid-twentieth century, kept alive in a handful of plantings until propagation work returned it to commercial acreage. Late harvest on the label means fruit left hanging past the usual picking date to accumulate sugar, and the 500 ml fill is the format sweet wines normally take. Domaine Gerovassiliou made this one in 2021.
