They started out slowly, buying vines and selling their harvest. Their initial purchases were their Lancement holdings and vines planted on Cote Rozier. Until 1982, the wines were sold to negociants. Their two biggest customers were Guigal and Chapoutier. Believe it or not, the family was making more money growing fruit! By 1987, they were bottling and selling their entire harvest. In 2003, they completely renovated their cellars and added new, temperature controlled, fermentation vats. Domaine Michel \u0026amp; Stephane Ogier Cote Rotie, like many Cote Rotie properties, is a completely family run estate. Today, Stephane Ogier is responsible for many of the domaine’s decisions to produce Ogier Cote Rotie. Under his watch, this northern Rhone wine property introduced several new cuvee’s, Ogier Lancement and Ogier Embruns and he’s shepherded Ogier Belle Helene to levels of consistency as well. The wine can be profound. It’s not only a new way of looking at Cote Rotie and launching new wines from his domaine that keeps Stephane Ogier busy, he also finished building a new winery in Ampuis in 2014 just in time for the harvest! However, Stephane Ogier was still not finished modernizing his winery, as he also completed construction on of the most beautiful tasting rooms in all of Cote Rotie!
