Mendoza is desert country: rainfall runs around 200 millimetres a year, and the vineyards live on Andean snowmelt carried through a canal network older than the modern wine industry. For Pinot Noir the trick is finding cool ground inside that dryness, which in practice means the higher terraces nearer the mountains. Grand Mère is Domaine Nico's 2022 Pinot Noir.
