Spatlese marks a rung on Germany's Pradikat ladder: fruit picked after the main pass through the vineyard, at a higher must weight than Kabinett. Dr. Hermann's 2022 Riesling is labeled from Treppchen, an Erden slope whose name means little staircase, after the terraces cut into its slate. Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, the older regional wording on such labels, takes in the river along with two of its tributaries.
