Treppchen means little staircase in German, a reference to the stepped stonework cut into the slope at Erden. Those slopes are red slate, unusual along a river whose vineyards are dominated by grey and blue slate. Grosses Gewaechs on this 2021 Dr. Loosen Riesling is the VDP's designation for a dry wine from a classified site, and Alte Reben means old vines.
