Echigo - NV - Stout Beer - 4 L

This is beer, not wine: an Echigo stout from Niigata, packaged in a 4 L format well beyond ordinary bottle size and released without a vintage. Japan's 1994 revision of the Liquor Tax Law cut the minimum annual output required for a brewing license from 2,000 kilolitres to 60. Echigo took its license that December and began production in February 1995, and is widely recognized as the country's first craft brewery.
