Barolo Riserva cannot be released for at least five years after harvest, roughly two more than the standard version, so a 2016 reaches shelves later than its vintage suggests. Briccolina is a named vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba, one of the eleven communes entitled to the Barolo name, and Enrico Serafino bottles it as Nebbiolo alone, which the denomination requires anyway.
