Syrah arrived in Chile in commercial quantity only during the 1990s, long after Cabernet Sauvignon and the old Pais vines it followed. Escudo Rojo, Spanish for red shield, bottles this 2022 as a Reserva Syrah. No appellation appears in the name, so grape and tier do the identifying.
