SSV on the label stands for Seven Springs Vineyard, in the Eola-Amity Hills. Those hills are basalt, old lava flows weathered down to shallow reddish soil, and they lift several hundred feet above the Willamette Valley floor, which keeps the vines on slope and out of the coldest air. La Source is a Chardonnay bottling from that vineyard, here in 2022.
