The initials in G.D. Vajra honor Giuseppe Domenico Vaira, whose son Aldo revived the family farm in 1972. Piedmontese estates famous for Nebbiolo have almost always kept Barbera vines as well; historically it was the grape of the family table while Barolo went to market. This 2025 Barbera d'Alba is Vajra's version of that tradition, bottled without the Superiore designation.
