Howell Mountain rises along the eastern rim of the Napa Valley, and its vineyards start above roughly 1,400 feet, the line where valley fog usually stops. Sitting over that line means bright mornings and cold nights on thin soils of volcanic ash and tuff, with planting reaching close to 2,000 feet. Bonfil is the 2019 red blend under the Howell Mountain Vineyards label.
