Clos Vougeot is a large vineyard (50 hectares - 125 acres) located bewteen Vosne-Romanée and Chambolle-Musigny. Joseph Drouhin owns two parcels in this mythical vineyard, both on a mild incline with a due east exposure.

Drouhin's 2019 Clos de Vougeot comes from Burgundy's most subdivided grand cru. Roughly 50 hectares sit behind a single medieval wall, divided among more than 80 owners. Cistercian monks began assembling the vineyard in the twelfth century, and the enclosure they raised still stands. With dozens of cellars bottling under one name, the producer's signature does the sorting; this is Joseph Drouhin's Pinot Noir.
