Areni

Vayots Dzor, in southern Armenia, is where excavation of the Areni-1 cave turned up a roughly 6,000-year-old winemaking installation, and it remains the province most identified with the Areni grape. Keush turns that red variety into a dry rosé here, a non-vintage brut sparkling made from fruit grown at the high elevations normal for Armenian vineyards.
