Three neighboring villages share the Maranges name, folded into a single appellation in 1989 at the southern tip of the Côte de Beaune, where the famous slope finally runs out. Labouré-Roi's Maranges Rouge draws Pinot Noir from this last stretch of limestone; the 2022 vintage gave the area a warm, early harvest.
