Anderson Valley picked up an early outside endorsement in 1982, when the Champagne house Louis Roederer sited its American sparkling estate in this Mendocino County valley — a decision resting partly on how well Chardonnay grows there. Lioco, a California label founded by a former wine importer and a former sommelier, went to the same valley for the 2021 Skycrest Vineyard Chardonnay, made as a still wine.
