Langhe Rosso exists because Piedmont needed a denomination in 1994 for reds that fall outside the Nebbiolo rulebook, which is how a Barbera-and-Cabernet blend like this one gets a legal home. Virtus is a proprietary name rather than a place, and Gresy released it from the 2012 harvest.
