Established at Haro in 1895, Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta is one of the most respected names in Rioja. All of their wines, regardless of price, offer beautiful expressions of local grape varieties and their terroir with a precise, concise elegance throughout the range. In addition to producing a range of table wines, both red and white, the winery also makes this extraordinary vermouth. Lacuesta's vermouth has been made since 1937 by their secret formula using white wine, to which they add highly aromatic, macerated herbs and flavorings, including vanilla, chamomile, gentian and others. It is then aged for seven months in French oak. On the palate, it is a delicious, complex wine with a perfect balance between tart and sweet, with a long, flavorful finish.
