Mazzetti d'Altavilla - NV - Grappa di MoscatoAged - 700 ml.

Not wine but grappa, a spirit distilled from grape pomace, the skins and seeds left after pressing. Under EU rules the name grappa is reserved for pomace brandy produced in Italy. Mazzetti d'Altavilla works out of the Monferrato hills of Piedmont, and this one starts from Moscato pomace and then spends time in wood, which is what the word Aged on the label refers to. The 700 ml bottle is the standard measure for Italian spirits rather than the 750 ml wine format.
