Mont Brouilly is a single hill carrying two different appellations: Côte de Brouilly is confined to the slopes themselves, while Brouilly covers the flatter land wrapped around the base. The rock up on those slopes is a blue-green volcanic diorite that growers call cornes vertes. Mommessin's 2019 Grandes Mises is Gamay grown on that upper ground.
