Marlborough occupies the northeastern corner of New Zealand's South Island and is the country's largest wine region by a wide margin. Sauvignon Blanc grown there accounts for the bulk of New Zealand's wine exports, most of it from two axes, the Wairau and the Awatere. Whalebone Bay's is a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from 2021.
