Marlborough's southern valleys run inland from the Wairau plain, and their heavier clay soils hold moisture better than the stony old riverbed ground closer to the sea, which is why Pinot Noir concentrates there. Nautilus drew this estate Pinot Noir from that side of the region in 2019.
