Rio sits at the narrowest point of the Gulf of Corinth, where the Peloponnese almost touches mainland Greece, and the slopes above it hold one of the country's smallest sweet-wine appellations: Parparoussis bottled this 2020 under it. The rules admit sweet white wine only, from Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains grown within a short radius of the town.
