Dr. George Belden Crane planted vines on the western edge of St. Helena in 1859. The vineyard bearing his name now counts among Andy Beckstoffer's heritage holdings in Napa Valley. Paul Hobbs, who worked on Opus One's early vintages before founding his own label in 1991, bottled this Cabernet Sauvignon from Dr. Crane fruit in 2020. Beckstoffer's grape contracts require the vineyard's name on the label, which is why Dr. Crane shows up across so many producers' lineups.
