Around Tours in the middle Loire, Touraine is the appellation that allows Sauvignon Blanc to stand on its own as a white, while nearby Vouvray and Montlouis are Chenin Blanc territory. Presle's 2022 sits in the Sauvignon camp. Cellars through this stretch of the river are cut into tuffeau, the soft limestone quarried to build the Loire châteaux.
