The Douro is better known abroad for Port, and dry red table wine came later at Quinta do Crasto, whose estate sits on a ridge above the river near Ferrão. Its 2022 Vinhas Velhas draws on old parcels where a dozen or more varieties grow interplanted in the same rows, harvested and fermented together as a field blend rather than sorted grape by grape.
