Nearly all of Washington's vineyard land sits east of the Cascade crest, in a rain shadow dry enough that irrigation is standard practice rather than a drought measure. Syrah is a relative newcomer to the state, arriving long after Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling were established. This is the Foothills Reserve bottling from Reynvaan, made in the 2021 vintage.
