Ripa Rosado 2016 is made with first-bleed must from Garnachas (85%) and Tempranillos (15%) from vines over 30 years old located on the banks of the Najerilla river, in Rioja Alta. It was fermented and subsequently aged for 18 months in used 500-litre French oak bocoyes. The grapes were harvested on October 17th and the vegetative cycle was marked by drought and high summer temperatures, which led to the absence of relevant diseases or pests and an abundant harvest. The wines are characterized by a more moderate alcoholic strength than in the previous year and an excellent balance between alcohol and acidity. While the restoration and refurbishment of the old winery was finishing, the entire process took place in external facilities. 3,200 bottles were bottled in March 2018.
