Approved in 1987, the Sonoma Coast appellation reaches from the Pacific shoreline far enough inland to cover a wide spread of sites, and its slow ripening is why Pinot Noir dominates the plantings. Stewart Cellars sourced this 2022 red inside those boundaries and labeled it by grape and appellation, without a narrower vineyard or sub-AVA claim.
