Stellenbosch was among the first districts mapped when South Africa's Wine of Origin scheme took effect in 1973, and it remains the most closely subdivided red-wine area in the country. Under that scheme, a district name on the label commits the producer to sourcing all the fruit inside its boundaries. Taaibosch Crescendo 2019 is a red blend bottled to that Stellenbosch designation.
