Tokara - 2023 - Tokara Reserve Chardonnay - 750 ml.

South African Chardonnay is mostly a modern planting, established from the 1980s onward and still well behind Chenin Blanc in acreage. Tokara's 2023 Reserve bottling belongs to that later wave. The variety itself is Burgundian by birth, a natural crossing of Pinot and the now nearly vanished Gouais Blanc.
